Billion BIPAC 7000 ADSL USB Modem

Billion BIPAC 7000

ADSL USB Modem. Powr - USB Port, 400 mA|DC...

Billion BIPAC 7000

Billion BIPAC 7000

Внутри одна плата электроники, маркировка: PW27000XX10 Made in China.

Billion BIPAC 7000 review and teardown of ADSL USB modem

Billion BIPAC 7000 - review and teardown of ADSL USB modem

Today I will describe in full size the Billion BIPAC 7000 ADSL modem, which was connected to a PC via a USB cable. This model began to be produced almost 10 years ago, and by today's IT standards it is already an ancient device, a museum exhibit ...

So, the black plastic case - small dimensions ... At the top is the Billion logo and the device name ... Then five inserts are LED indication ... But only three LEDs are signed and only they work - the remaining two are silent.

On the underside there are ventilation holes, two protruding legs - there were rubber mugs glued in, they are no longer ... Label, on it: Billion Electric Co., LTD. ADSL USB Modem. Powr - USB Port, 400 mA | DC ... Model - BIPAC 7000, made in China.

Back back side. There are only two connectors here: a USB connector and an RJ11 connector for connecting a telephone line.

You can find the characteristics and other data for this device on the Internet yourself, and I continue:

Billion BIPAC 7000 disassembly

It's time to take a look inside this modem. There are no screws, the body consists of two plastic halves, they are connected with latches. To be careful, we will analyze it without violating the presentation.

Inside there is one electronics board, marking: PW27000XX10 Made in China. There is a code E120558 and a logo - the letters KB in the oval ... The modem is based on the Conexant AccessRunner CX82320-21 57000157 chip. Next to it is the Samsung K4S641632H-TC60 RAM chip. Chip marked 46FXN3K AHC14 and Texas Instruments logo is a Schmitt trigger. Then ATMEL426 24Cхх flash - the last letters are smeared with paint ... There is nothing more interesting on the board ... Another thing is striking - the number of divorced and empty places, by the way, there are no two indication LEDs for which two out of five places are allocated on the case ... Probably, this board and this case were used in the production of more sophisticated modems, and this is some kind of stripped-down cheap version ...

The reverse side of the board is empty. If only, according to tradition, which sticker was pasted ...

This concludes the description of the Billion BIPAC 7000 ADSL USB modem - I cannot say what it is in operation, since I did not use it. There is not much information about it on the Internet ... there seems to be a driver, but everything is on third-party sites - on the Billion site itself there is no modem of this model, and indeed there are no drivers at all ... Although the company has a long history - since 1973, it must accordingly was to develop some kind of positive reputation, authority ... It is unlikely that the lack of technical support strengthens the reputation ... And deleting your old products, as if they never existed, is the image of cheap manufacturers who do not value their history, who are embarrassed by their past products. .. Apparently, for this reason, the products under the name Billion are little known ...
